Ringing in the ears
Ringing in the ears can be a symptom of TMJ disorder. Your auditory canal is located directly behind the TMJ and close to the top of your jaw bone. When opening and closing, pressure is applied to the back of the TMJ, and can affect the canal. Some common causes of why the jaw may be too far back in the TMJ include previous orthodontics, improper bite, or trauma. However there are many other causes that only a full exam can reveal.
