Teeth were made for chewing
Teeth developed their shape to make chewing more efficient. The front teeth were designed for tearing, and the back teeth were designed for compression. That's why it's difficult to chew on hard foods with only your front teeth. However, if you have an improper bite, you can destroy your teeth over time. Teeth in your upper and lower jaw need to fit in harmony, similar to how a key only fits one lock. A good bite is designed to destroy food, but a bad bite will destroy your teeth.
