Your bite can indicate a TMJ problem
Your upper teeth should overlap your lower teeth. If your upper teeth don't have overlap with your lower teeth, it may indicate that you have a TMJ problem since your upper jaw is either too narrow, or off balance with your lower jaw. This will have negative effects on your TMJ that accumulate over time. Unlike other joints in the body, the TMJ is not as easily corrected as it becomes more damaged and is of utmost importance to treat early. Dr. Keri Do of Manoa Dental can evaluate your TMJ and let you know your options.
